The Story
Antique ring with an old European-cut diamond, approx. .95 carat, with EGL stating its F-G color and SI1 clarity. An old European-cut diamond surround, approx. 1.35 carats. Mounted in millegrain set and engraved platinum. French importation mark. Center: 14.2mm, band: 1.7mm. Circa 1910.
Every diamond cluster ring we acquire is special in its own way. This one has an especially deep antique-cut stone and the bezel on its "petals" are so uniform and thin. It's a characteristic of Edwardian craftsmanship that is rare if seen at all in jewelry today.Â
Diamond and gold mining has caused devastation in areas such as Africa, wreaking havoc on delicate ecosystems and communities. Choosing to go vintage, you are eliminating the need for more mining and lessening the demand for new diamonds.
